Almanza top Yuba City runner
The run-happy Honkers – competing in their third 5,000-meter race in eight days – took to the 3.1-mile course at the 34th annual Stanford Cross Country Invitational late Saturday and finished 32nd out of 43 teams in the Division 2 race.
Jose Almanza led the Honkers with a run of 17 minutes, 17 seconds to place 77th. The other Honker runnerswerre Cristobal Pinedo (93rd, 17:27), Kristoff Kalau (224th, 18:54), Tim Dubray (250th, 19:15), Rashed Razzada (256th, 19:28), Gurpreet Kahlon (283rd, 20:05) and Satvir Bains (294th, 20:38). The race had 304 competitors.
On the girls side, Olivia Jacques ran 22:32 (166th) and Emily Wolverton ran 26:02. There were 249 runners.

Stephen Enright was the Honkers’ leading runner on the 1.86-mile course, clocking an 11:28 for 85th place.
Yuba City finished 18th out of 23 teams.
