Little League: Sutter Buttes majors stay hot
The Sutter Buttes major baseball all-stars are taking care of business up in Eureka.
Sutter Buttes continued play at the sectional tournament with a 12-3 victory over Eel River, moving to 2-0 in the winner's bracket.
Clayton Chipchase went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and three runs scored. Kyle Williams also drove in three runs, doubled and was 3 for 5.
Jayden Diamond finished 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a homer for Sutter Buttes and Joshan Dhillon was 2 for 3.
Sutter Buttes will continue its run today against Red Bluff.
MINOR BASEBALL
Red Bluff 6, Sutter Buttes 5
Izzy Dorantes finished 4 for 4 with two RBIs yet Sutter Buttes dropped its opener in the sectional tournament on Saturday at Sutter Buttes Little League.
Izic Pino scored twice and picked up an RBI for Sutter Buttes.
JUNIOR BASEBALL
Redding 8, Marysville 7
Trevor Spencer, Blake Giles and Chase Collmer were all 2 for 5 in the loss for Marysville, which moved to 1-1 in the sectional tournament in Redding.
Giles and Collmer both knocked in a run and Marshall Duncan was 3 for 4. Riley Trepelle was 2 for 3 with an RBI.
