Worley wins all-around

Willie Worley of Arbuckle captured the all-around amateur title at last weekend’s Tri-County Junior/Amateur Rodeo at the Butte County fairgrounds in Gridley.

Worley won the team roping with Laine Ronchetto of Arbuckle and was fourth in tie-down roping. Brandi Anthony of Red Bluff was the junior all-around champion.

Mid-Valley cowboys who did well in the amateur division include Chant DeForest of Wheatland (1st, steer wrestling), Josh Garner of Live Oak (3rd, tie-down roping and second, breakaway roping), Ceder Spears of Marysville (2nd, tie-down roping), Sara Higgins of Williams (4th barrels), Kadie Blenn of Gridley (4th, breakaway), Tiffany Willard of Marysville (2nd, pole bending), Ryan Parker of Williams and Jay Chesson of Gridley (2nd, team roping), Donnie Applegarth of Yuba City and Doug Huston of Sutter (3rd, team roping), Doug Parker and Chad Parker of Williams (4th, team roping).

Local cowboys who placed in the junior division include Alleigh Warnke of Penn Valley (1st, mutton bustin’), Davis Bardesich of Gridley (2nd, mutton bustin’), Lance Santerra of Biggs (3rd, mutton bustin’), Katie Lee of Yuba City (2nd, goat tying) and Erika Solis of Yuba City (4th, pole bending).
