HALL OF FAME
NCSA honoring 'pros' at dinner
The Northern California Sports Association will hold its annual "Hall of Fame Awards Dinner" at St. Isidore's Church in Yuba City on March 20.
The event will honor 12 pro-level athletes from the north state including former New York Jets quarterback Ken 0'Brien, NFL scout Hal Athon and Doug Mayberry.
Others being inducted are former major leaguer Stan Swanson and PGA Tour player Pat McGowan.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $25 and all proceeds go to directly to scholarships for area athletes.

CHEERLEADING
Y.C.H.S. cheer squad takes first
Yuba City High's competition cheerleading squad placed first in the non-tumbling division at the West Coast Championships at Universal Studios in Los Angeles on Feb. 27.
It was the second straight year the Honkers' cheer squad has won the event.
Members of the team are: Alex Taylor, Kerri Bebout, Alix Biscotti, Gabby Garrisini, Kristi Davis, Bailey Pappas, Tiffani Madison, Tiffany Updike, Sarah Larsen, Meagan Poague, Cary Cervantes, Julia Menin, Ally Ekstrum, Natalie Taylor, Kaitlyn Rex, Joy Xiong and Amanda Rogers.
The group was coached by Christen Adams and Natalie Page.

The Yuba City Jr. Honkers are still having sign-ups for all cheer squads.

Sutter Storm to host tryouts
The Sutter Area Storm 12-and-under team will host tryouts today from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. for pitchers and catchers, and from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. for infielders and outfielders.
