SOFTBALL

Spots still open for tourney

The 10th annual Matt Dailey Memorial Softball Tournament will be held June 27-28 at Nelson Park in Oroville.

This men's slow-pitch tournament is a double elimination and there are eight spots still available in the 24-team tournament; entry fee is $250.

Call Jamie Turner for details at 570-2448 or Veronica Walker for raffle donations at 591-3411. All raffle proceeds benefit the Wings of Eagles in Dailey's name.

LITTLE LEAGUE

Sutter Area names All-Stars

Sutter Area Little League has announced its minor and major All-Stars.

Players on the minor team include Collin Barroni, Todd Carr, Jacob Correia, Kyle Deree, Jack Enos, Isiah Hamm, Devante Hubbard, Logan Hungrige, Ryan Larsen, Garrett Sheffield, Isaac Smith, Scott Thomas and Isaiah Uriostegui.

They are managed by Jack McDaniel, Mondo Uriostegui and Randy Brown.

Players on the 11-year-old major All-Stars are Ross Applegarth, Tanner Baroni, Franklin Correia, Joseph Dagnino, Jacob Fitzgerald, Caden Goldby, Brayden Hungrige, Cody Jackson, Sahil Pandit, William Pearce, Dylan Simard and Ricky Williams.

They are managed by Kristi Goldby and Don Applegarth.

For the major 12-year-old team, Brett Ahlers, Andy Brower, Jace Heyford, Alex Lopez, Chase Miles, Tyler Minton, Brendon Nelson, Randy Post, Ethan Rupert, Grant Tarke, Corey Wilhelm and Kael Williams.

They are managed by John Post and Rick Heryford.

MLL announces best in softball

Marysville Little League announced its 2009 senior All-Stars.

Players on the team include Marimar Terriquez, Addy Martinez, Dakota Ries, Kallie Cano, Hannah Teruel, Natasha Adams, Alexa Roberts, Sarah Chavez, Holly Huber, Sydney Herrington and Amanda Collier.

They are managed by Chris Adams

Peach Bowl picks All-Stars

Peach Bowl Little League has announced its 2009 baseball and softball All-Star teams.

Named to the minor baseball team were Maddux Bebout, Thomas Stevens, Harrison Cheim, Colten Schwegerl, Alex Hernandez, Darius Traylor, Riley Bell, Carter Manning, Hayden Reyna, A.J. Hedley, Ahrmani Gill, Ben Heuvelhorst and Nick Westerband.

They are managed by Richard Schwegerl, Jamie Bebout and Chris Reyna.

Players on the major baseball team are Cameron Peterson, Rocky Moreno, Steven Carlos, Hoscar Hernandez, Mark Archuleta, Clarence Pierson, Alex Harris, Isaac Torres, Tristan Martins, Marco Ruiz, Isaias Torres, Richard Bagley and Chance Smith.

They are managed by Gary Martins, Rocky Moreno and John Watson.

YOUTH

Jr. Giants holding sign-ups

The Yuba-Sutter Jr. Giants will be holding sign-ups today at 5:30 p.m. at Earle Yorton Field in Marysville.

The baseball program is for youth ages 3-12 and admission is free.
