Prep Roundup: Marysville soccer tops River Valley
The Marysville High girls soccer team bounced back from losing to Lincoln in its opener by topping River Valley 3-1 at home on Monday.
Nallely Ferreira scored two goals, Wendy Valencia added another and the Indians improved to 1-1 on the season.
Marimar Terriquez and Alyssa Villa each recorded assists, while teammates Makayla Synak and Rosa Gonzalez were credited with quality defensive performance by coach Chris Osborne.
The Marysville JV team defeated River Valley 2-0.
Annie Wooten scored both goals for the Indians (1-1), while Jackie Arechiga added an assist and Amanda Vang earned top defensive honors.

Steven Spatafore shot a 38 at Sunset Whitney in River Valley's first match of the season.
Falcons teammates William Jow shot a 45 and Lucas Vaughn recorded a 46.
TENNIS
Marysville 9, River Valley 0
The Indians swept the Falcons thanks to No. 1 Armando Montejano, who won his match in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
Also picking up wins in singles were Lennox Jacobson (6-4, 6-3), Jorden Burrell (6-3, 6-2), Terry Prince (6-1, 6-2), Jamie Hurdt (4-6, 6-4, 10-6) and Annie Lin (6-4, 6-2).
Tou Thor and Moua Vang teamed up in doubles for a 7-5, 6-3 victory. Other doubles wins came from Jim Vang and Debbie Lor (6-0, 6-1) and Tran Carpenter and Myers Lor (6-0, 6-0).
