Colusa High School students Josh Arce and Alec Schantz, shown here with Music Director Mary Colligan, will be heading to New York this February to participate in the Honors Performance Series held at Carnegie Hall.

Colusa High School's tradition of musical excellence has continued as students Alec Schantz and Josh Arce have been selected by the Honors Performance Series to be part of the Honor Band Ensemble playing Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Music students from all over the world audition to perform under master conductors at one of the world's most iconic venues, but only the elite are offered an opportunity.

Schantz, a B flat clarinet player, is making his third trip to the Big Apple, while Arce and his alto saxophone are returning for the second year in a row.

Colusa High School's Music Director Mary Colligan and her predecessor, Mike Phenicie, will accompany Arce and Schantz to the performance on Feb. 4.
