Ladies Aid Bazaar returns
The Grimes Ladies Aid Society will have its annual dinner and bazaar at 5 p.m. Nov. 5 at Grand Island Elementary School.
The dinner will be turkey will all of the trimmings and dessert. It costs $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12 and free for children younger than 5.
Bazaar booths will include linens, Christmas and other crafts, boutique items, mystery packages for people of all ages, a country store with local produce, baked goods, candies and jellies.
There will be a raffle table, prizes for which include a hand-made quilt.
Board of Directors seats open
The Colusa County Chamber of Commerce seeks applications for eight seats on its Board of Directors.
Two-year terms on the board will begin Jan. 1.
All Chamber members with dues paid are eligible to run for the positions. Members may nominate themselves or other Chamber members.
The following members' terms expire on Dec. 31: Nick Reading, Ed Hulbert, Ben Felt, Daniel O'Connor Jr., Dick Armocido, Don Litchfield, Diane Shuman and John Ashbaugh.
Those interested are aked to respond in writing to the Chamber, 2963 Davison Court, Colusa, 95932, by Oct. 31. All nominees will be contacted to confirm their candidacy prior to ballots being mailed out, which will happen by Nov. 15.
Ballots must be returned to the Chamber by Nov. 30.

The next meeting of the board is set for Tuesday at 9 a.m. at 546 Jay St., Suite 108, Colusa. The public is invited to attend.
Veterans ceremony set
A special ceremony will be held to rededicate the walls of the tribute at Veterans Memorial Park at 1 p.m. Nov. 11, Veterans Day.
The park is at 10th and Market streets. The public is invited to attend.
Car show returns on Sunday
The Arbuckle Car Show and Train Depot Barbecue will kick off at 10 a.m. Sunday at LaVanche Hursh Park.
There will be music, raffles, vendors and more at the event. The Halloween parade will march at 11 a.m., and awards from the car show will be given out at 2 p.m.
A lunch featuring tri-tip will be served at 11 a.m.
