Established in 1984, the annual Yuletide Dinner has become a Christmas Day tradition in Colusa County.

This past Dec. 25, 2017, over 120 people were served Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, thanks to the generosity of this wonderful community.

The Yuletide Dinner Committee would like to thank all those who donated their time, money, turkeys, and pies to make this year’s Dinner a festive success.  Approximately 85 “meals on wheels” were delivered county-wide from 11 p.m.-1 p.m., and some 40 meals were served in Friendship Hall from

1 p.m.-3 p.m. We would particularly like to acknowledge the ongoing generous financial support from Colusa Rotary, and this year’s generous donation from St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.   We are very grateful to the steady stream of individuals and families who helped set up, cook, serve, and clean up.

A special thanks goes to Marie Critchfield, who has organized the turkey donations for years, and to the Ahola family, who has organized the meals on wheels deliveries for as long as we can remember.  We are also grateful for Dawn Hansen, who serenaded diners with Christmas carols on her hand chimes.

Thanks to all who helped, and best wishes for a blessed 2018.

Gratefully,

Janet Anderson, Joyce Richards, Elizabeth Yerxa
