Thumbs up to being thankful

These have been some trying times for some people; the unaffected should give great thanks

We don’t want to only focus on the bad news, but one has to recognize the string of tragedies that have impacted Northern California communities in the last several months.

The deadly wildfires, though not in our county, brought with them some of the scariest and saddest images we’ve seen for a long time.

Then, just last week, a madman went on a rampage in Tehama County, killing five, injuring more and putting an entire community on edge.

So, as we come into the holiday season and kick off the time period with Thanksgiving, we think that there should be plenty of people who should be thankful for what they have.

It might not be everything you want or once had, but it’s still a lot more than the victims of some of these tragedies are left with.

Thumbs up

A fun craft fair event

No, we’re not trying to contribute to the “Christmas Creep” and make people overlook Thanksgiving.

The front page coverage and photos of the Craft Fair we chose captured the spirit of the craft fair, which sounded like a fun time.

“This is my second year, and it’s been great,” said Teresa Larson, owner of Sweet Thing Caramels. “Colusa is always a good craft fair; local people always support it.”
