Organizers of the 30th annual Yuletide Dinner are seeking volunteers and donations in preparation for the holiday dinner that feeds around 300 people in the community.
The free Yuletide Dinner is on Christmas Day from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. in Friendship Hall at United Methodist Church (on the corner of Fifth and Oak streets), Colusa, and is open to the public.
Olive Keenan, a senior at Colusa High School, is helping to organize the event as part of her senior project. She said that on average, the dinner feeds about 200 people, and an additional 100 are served through Meals on Wheels, which delivers the dinner.
"It really affects how people feel toward the community," she said. "I really think we should help those people out who need it."
Donations can be made directly at TriCounties Bank. For more information, call Joyce Richards at 305-7323 or Elizabeth Yerxa at 228-5339.
