Centennial High Grad 2019

Centennial High School and Corning Independent Study High School celebrate their 2019 graduates during a ceremony Thursday morning at the Corning Veterans Memorial Hall.

To a packed Corning Veterans Hall, Centennial High School and Corning High Independent Study graduates received their diplomas during a ceremony highlighted by the presentation of several awards and scholarships.

Following comments by Corning Union High School District Associate Principal Jason Armstrong and Centennial teacher Paul Travers, graduate John Lopez addressed his fellow classmates.

Award recipients included Cassandra Sanchez who received the California State Seal of Biliteracy; Lopez the Exchange Club Award; and the Daniel and Wealthy Rodgers scholarship to Emila Jimenez. Eight graduates had received Our Lady’s Guild of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church scholarships.

  • Centennial High School class of 2019 – Genesis Alvares-Bautista, Emily Contreras, Trystan Harris, Taylor Hughes, Emila Jimenez, John Lopez, Alexander Mayer, Juan Mejia, Jonathan Mendoza, Evelin Ortiz, Trace Sulzer, Terri Whitlock, Andrew Wise-Christman and Joshua Zaragoza.
  • Corning High Independent Study class of 2019 – Kaylin Mallon, Danika Montgomery, Julisa Rodriguez, July Rubalcava Leon and Cassandra Sanchez.
