Corning Rotary recognizes student achievement

During a special luncheon at Rolling Hills Casino the Corning Rotary Club recognized Corning High School student Islyn Bogarin with with a Student of the Month certificate on Feb. 15. Bogarin is the 16-year-old daughter of Mayra and Ruben Bogarin and an 11th grade student at the high school. She is a member of the school’s drill team, plays the guitar and holds a 3.6 grade point average. She plans on attending California State University, Berkeley to become a doctor of psychology. Her favorite school subject is English and was introduced to the Rotary Club by her English teacher Shawni McBride.
