The Tehama County Management Employees’ Association (TCMEA) is pleased to offer its endorsement of Krista Peterson in the June 7 election for the Tehama County Auditor-Controller. This endorsement was approved by a unanimous vote of the TCMEA membership, who have recognized Krista’s years of experience working the auditor-controller’s office. Her experience, knowledge, and abilities make her the only candidate qualified to fill the position.
As members of the TCMEA, we have known and worked with Krista for years, and are confident in her capability to lead the department and the county.
Them TCMEA members, serving in leadership positions with the county, have extensive experience working the auditor-controller’s office, and therefore have insight into what the position requires. The auditor-controller’s responsibilities, as detailed on the department website, include, “the accounting of the county’s revenues, expenditures, assets, liabilities, fund balances and related fiduciary responsibilities.”
The position does not set policy, does not decide the budget, and cannot overrule the Board of Supervisor’s decisions. This is a highly technical position requiring special skills and experience, not a political office, and we are confident that Krista is the right choice to fulfill this role. We support her in this race, and look forward to continuing to work with her as the Tehama County Auditor-Controller.
