Here’s to homecoming
This is a real fun time of year, we think.
Fall is in the air and alumni are coming back to area high schools for homecoming events.
This week’s at Corning Union High School sound like they have been and will continue to be a whole lot of fun.
One of our favorite excerpts from today’s story.
“Friday’s festivities begin with the Homecoming Parade highlighting the high school’s almuni Golden Grads of 1967 and the Silver Grads of 1992.
These graduates will be recognized in the parade as well as during the evening activities at the football game and during the Alumni Dinner in the high school cafeteria from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. The Cardinal football teams will be taking on Anderson High School with the J.V. game starting at 5:30 p.m. Following the J.V. game and before the 7:30 p.m. varsity game, the Golden Grads will be introduced and the Parade of Floats will take place.”
Olive Festival is here
One of the reasons why people sometimes don’t like or appreciate where they live, we feel, is because they aren’t engaged in the community or don’t take part in its events.
Well, there’s a whole boatload of chances to get involved and have some fun with the Olive Festival and its affiliated events. Check out the story that starts on today’s front page to learn about some of the fun.
