A 26-year-old Corning man is behind bars after he was arrested Friday, March 1 for allegedly sexually abusing a child under the age of 14 years old.
Corning police said began the investigation after receiving a report from Tehama County Child Protective Services of possible sexual abuse of a child.
The investigation by police and child protective services led to the arrest of Kao Siew Saetern around 9:30 a.m. at the Corning Police Department on Third Street.
Saetern was booked into the Tehama County Jail on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts upon child under 14 years and forcible acts of sexual penetration/victim incapable of giving consent. Bail was set at $100,000.
The child was placed with Tehama County Child Protective Services.
