The team at Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard is thrilled and excited to be serving others with our newly painted wall mural. Amelia Villagomez, 16, daughter of Antonio and Erin Villagomez, worked on the corner walls of MHC beginning on June 22. Guided by Nancy Balkowitsch, who measured and suggested the “bones” of the painting, Amelia has painted a whimsical representation of food for our food closet.
Her handprints, according to Amelia, represent all who have contributed to the work of the closet. Design elements took into account the texture and area limitations of the walls themselves. Paid for by a private donor, clients and workers alike have an added sense of peace and God’s love as they give and receive food from Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard.
