Haley Morrison’s fourth grade students (Mrs. Knight substituting) will take part in the Age of Sail program on the March 24 and March 25.
The Age of Sail field trip teaches students about the history of, and what it was like to work on a ship in 1906. Students will stay over night on the Balclutha which is anchored in San Francisco and was built in 1886 to carry cargo all over the world.
Girls soccer continues this coming week with Twin Rivers hosting Live Oak Middle School on Tuesday, March 26 and Franklin School coming for a game on Thursday, March 28.
The Twin Rivers Charter School production of Alice in Wonderland Jr. will have evening performances on Wednesday, March 27 and March 28 starting at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, student attending TRCS will be admitted at no charge.
On March 28, the students at Twin Rivers will watch the performance at 1:15 p.m. The play is directed by Obie Leff.
There will be an Award Assembly for kindergarten students at 8:45 p.m. Monday, March 25. This is a time to recognize Good Citizenship as well as Academic Progress.
Also on March 25, students in grades kindergarten through fifth will be attending a Rideout Healthy Kids Assembly starting at 1:50 p.m.
The students grades one through three will have their Award Assembly on Thursday, March 28.
The Franklin School Parents’ Club will have a special event on Friday, March 29 starting at 7:55 a.m. Donuts with Dads will be a special time for dads and their children.
On Tuesday, March 26 Riverbend will have Cookies with a Cop in our library from 8 a.m.-8:30 a.m. for our students.
Riverbend’s award assemblies will be held on Friday, March 29. First through third grade awards will be at 9:15 a.m., fourth and fifth grade at 10 a.m., and sixth grade at 2:20 p.m.
Students will get a chance to enjoy ice cream with our principal on Friday, March 29.
In staffing news, Teresa Cordi, an experienced teacher and administrator in YCUSD will serve as our part-time interim Assistant Principal for the remainder of the school year.
On Wednesday, March 27, our eighth graders will tour River Valley High School in preparation for next year.
