Both Willows girls and Hamilton City boys saw success in their softball and baseball games last week.

However, the Honker boys fell to Winters.


Willows 16, Pierce 3

The Lady Honkers hosted the Pierce Bears and tallied a 16-3 victory on April 4.

Willows took an early lead, scoring two in the first inning. The Bears didn’t score until the fourth – with one run, the other two runs were tallied in the fifth. The Honkers scored one run in the third, five in the fifth, and four in both the sixth and seventh innings.

The Honkers were led by Talyer Berens who went 4-for-4 with five runs scored and four RBIs; Malachy Millen was 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBIs; and Aliyah Stevenson who went 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBIs.

Willows is scheduled to play Pierce at home today at 2 p.m.


Hamilton City 17, Williams 1

The Braves took an early lead to defeat the Yellowjackets 17-1 April 2 on the road.

Hamilton City tallied eight runs in the first two innings, Williams’ lone run was earned at the bottom of the second.

The Braves went on to score five in the third and two in both the fourth and fifth.

No individual stats were available prior to publication.

Hamilton City played East Nicolaus at home on Tuesday, however, stats were not available prior to publication.

The Braves will play East Nic again on Friday at home.

Winters 7, Willows 3

Willows fell behind early and couldn’t catch up to Winters on April 2 and took a 7-3 loss.

The Honkers scored three in the fourth inning. Colby Stilwell and Les Dalrymple both had doubles in the inning.

Stilwell took the loss for Willows and Wyatt Peters started the game allowing two hits and two runs over one inning.

The Honkers played West Valley at home on Tuesday but stats were not available prior to publication.

The team will play West Valley at home again on Friday.
