With the end of both the softball and baseball seasons last month, the Northern Section CIF has released its roster of All-League teams which includes a total of 20 athletes from Glenn County.
Topping the softball list is Willows junior Tayler Berens, who for the second year in a row was named the Sacramento Valley League Most Valuable Player then additionally earned a spot on the All-Northern Section second team.
Berens, a catcher, posted big numbers for the SVL champion Honkers including a .440 batting average, 1.238 OPS, 40 runs scored and 45 RBI, which was third most in the section.
Joining Berens on the SVL All-League team are seniors Marissa Peters, Aliyah Stevenson and Audrey Pearson along with junior Hanna Parisio and sophomore Malachy Millen.
In the Butte View League, second place Orland had three selections including seniors Sydney Paillon, Jeslyn Svejda and junior Annel Ramirez, each of whom ended the season with batting averages over .400.
Rounding out the softball honorees for the Hamilton City Braves is senior Isabella Olivarez, junior Marisela Trenado and sophomore Madison Pankratz.
While it was a tough year on the baseball diamond for the local teams, each had players acknowledged for their individual efforts.
Three Willows seniors, Colby Stillwell, Les Dalrymple and Colton Geiger represented the Honkers on the All-SVL team, while Hamilton City seniors Johnny Vogt and Ethan Magana were All-MVL for the third place Braves.
Stillwell, who finished the season with a .465 average and 1.419 OPS was also named second team All-Northern Section.
Orland seniors Jacob Schermer and Zach Parker were part of the All-BVL contingency in their final season for the Trojans.
