YQCA In-Person Training

The Youth for the Quality Care of Animals is hosting an in-person training from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Glenn County Success Square Conference Center, 131 E. Walker St., Orland. Preregistration is required and there is a $3 fee to attend the training. To register, visit https://bit.ly/2GQqMsv. YQCA certification is required for all junior livestock exhibitors that plan to participate in fairs in California, such as the Glenn County Fair. The training is also available online. Public workshop – Sustainable Groundwater Management Act

A public workshop will be hosted about the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act at 6 p.m. at the Glenn Success Square Conference Center, 131 E. Walker St., Orland. SGMA is a new state law requiring management of groundwater. The workshop is an opportunity to learn about SGMA, the funding process and proposed assessment. Friends of the Fair Benefit Dinner

The seventh annual Friends of the Fair Benefit Dinner will kick off the spirit of the 2019 Glenn County Fair “Let the Good Times Grow.” The event includes a social, dinner, live auction, cake and general raffles. All proceeds go toward improvements at the fairgrounds to support the community and youth events. Tickets can be purchased online or in the fair office. The dinner will take place 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at Flaherty Hall at the fairgrounds, 221 E. Yolo St., Orland.

'Age Well, Drive Smart' class

Willows California Highway Patrol will be hosting an Age Well, Drive Smart class for older drivers that will cover topics such as California driving laws, driving practices and the effects aging has on a person’s ability to drive safely. The program will also include a self-assessment to help senior drivers identify changes in their physical and mental conditions that could affect their driving ability. The class will be from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. For more information, contact Tracy Hoover at the Willows CHP office at 934-5424.
