Willows grads make the grade
Congratulations to the seniors at Willows High School. The class of 2017 recently reached the milestone of graduating from high school.
They now have their diplomas in hand after being allowed to move their tassel to the other side of their cap.
About 102 students were given their diplomas at the ceremony.
The rest of those students' lives is now in front of them, as they go on to either college, a technical school or straight into having a job.
Whatever path in life they take, best of luck to them.
And remember: You can always call Willows home.
CHP officer charged in death
Too often it seems car accidents are happening because of distracted driving.
One such incident occurred last year, when a CHP officer rear-ended a car carrying a 17-year-old from Willows.
The officer, now retired, was recently charged with vehicular manslaughter. If convicted, he could face one year in county jail and a $10,000 fine.
Let this be a lesson about distracted driving: As the commercials say, it can wait.
