The Willows varsity baseball team tallied a win against West Valley, 5-3, on April 9 at home.
The Honkers got things started in the first inning with Leslee Dalrymple grounding out and scoring one run.
Willows scored four runs in the fourth inning – Dalrymple, Odell Calzada and Nate Reed each drove in runs during the inning.
Colby Stilwell was the winning pitcher for the Honkers. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over four innings, striking out four and walking one.
Stilwell went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Willows in hits.
The Honkers fell to West Valley on April 12 on the road, 5-4.
Willows led in the second inning, 2-1 and held the lead scoring two more runs in the fifth to West Valley’s one. However, the Eagles went on to score one in the sixth and two in the seventh to take the victory.
Reed went 1-for-2 with two RBIs; Danny Valdez was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and one run scored; Odell Calzada went 1-for-2 with one run scored; and Stilwell went 1-for-3 with a run.
The Honkers played against Rio Vista and Liberty Ranch at the Sutter Spring Tournament on Tuesday, but stats were not available prior to publication.
