An Arkansas woman was ejected from her car while reportedly driving under the influence on Saturday, according to a California Highway Patrol press release.
At around 2:30 p.m., Courtney Mills, 26, of Emmet, Ark., was driving her Pontiac east in the eastbound lane of State Route 162, east of County Road 304.
According to the press release, Mills made an unsafe turn to the right and allowed her car to leave the roadway. The Pontiac hit a fence before overturning and ejecting Mills – she was reportedly not wearing a seat belt.
The Pontiac came to a rest on its roof and caught fire. Upon investigation, Mills was reportedly determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol and placed under arrest.
Mills was flown to Enloe Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
