Hard Rock International announced today (Wednesday) that they've named a president for the Yuba County resort and casino being built in partnership with the Enterprise Rancheria.

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain, now under construction on Forty Mile Road near the Toyota Amphitheatre, will be managed by Mark Birtha. According to a news release from Hard Rock, he has 25 years of experience in gaming and hospitality, most recently with Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park in Ohio.

“Mark’s experience and passion for the brand make him the ideal leader for Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain,” said Jon Lucas, chief operating officer of Hard Rock International, in a prepared statement. “While working with Mark over the past few years, I have witnessed firsthand the talent and devotion that make him an industry leader, and I am confident he will continue that track record of success in this new endeavor.”

In addition to Hard Rock, Birtha has worked in operations and development at Mirage Resorts, Las Vegas Sands, Station Casinos, Marriott International and Starwood.

Prior to Hard Rock International, he served as vice president and general manager at Station Casinos, which operates nine hotel-casino properties in Las Vegas. Birtha has a bachelor of science degree from the Hotel School at Cornell University.

“We are pleased to unite with one of the most exciting and authentic gaming, hospitality and entertainment leaders in the world and can’t wait to see what the future holds,” said Glenda Nelson, tribal chairperson of Enterprise Rancheria, in a prepared statement.

Hard Rock International has locations in 74 countries, including 185 cafes, 27 hotels and 12 casinos.
