A man died in a head-on collision on Feather River Boulevard this afternoon (Tuesday).

A Scion SUV was traveling south on Feather River Boulevard – south of Virginia Avenue – just before 3 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, it veered into the northbound lane, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Brian Wittmer said.

An oncoming Chevy pickup truck had no time to react before the two vehicles collided, Wittmer said. The driver of the Scion, an unidentified man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck suffered major injuries and his passenger suffered minor injuries. Both parties were transported to a local hospital.

Feather River Boulevard will re-open in the next 30 to 45 minutes, Wittmer said.
