The Yuba Watershed Protection and Fire Safe Education/Outreach Committee will present two films followed by a question-and-answer discussion about the changing face of wildfires and to help residents prepare their homes and themselves to be fire safe. The event is hosted by the Wheatland Fire Authority.“Wilder Than Wild: Fire, Forests, and the Future” is a one-hour documentary that reveals how fuel build-up and climate change have exposed Western wildlands to large, high intensity wildfires, while greenhouse gases released from the fires contribute to global warming, according to the film’s website.
“How Your Home Can Survive a Wildfire” is the other film that will be shown at the event.
The films will be shown from 2 p.m.-4 p.m., Saturday at the Wheatland Community Center, 101 C Street.
