An apartment fire that caused damage to multiple units in Yuba City on Monday morning is under investigation, according to the Yuba City Fire Department.
The department was called to the fire, which occurred in the 1200 block of Casita Drive, around 11:30 a.m.
“When we arrived, we found heavy fire in one apartment,” said Battalion Chief Eric Hankins. “PD helped evacuate the other apartments.”
Crews were able to suppress the fire within the first 30 minutes, but because of the close proximity to other apartments in a heavily populated area of the city, first responders cleared nearby structures.
Hankins said one apartment sustained heavy damage, while adjacent apartments experienced some minor smoke damage. No injuries related to the fire were reported.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and is under investigation, he said.
Members of the Yuba City Fire Department and Yuba City Police Department responded to the blaze.
