EVENTS

– The Applause Kids! cast will present the “Holiday Happiness” show at 6 p.m. It will feature anything from monologues to short skits and poetry to musical numbers. The free virtual event will be on the Yuba Sutter Arts Facebook page and YouTube channel.

– Swan Tours, led by California Department of Fish and Wildlife naturalists, will take place from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in Yuba County rice fields. This is an excursion into a prime Pacific Flyway overwintering grounds. Tours focus on the ancient tundra swan but participants could also see an assortment of geese, ducks, shorebirds and raptors. – The Teegarden Event Center will host a Christmas fair from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at 731 Plumas St., Yuba City. For free, people can sit with Santa Claus and tell him their holiday wish (for an extra charge there will be a photographer available), a gingerbread house contest (people can drop off their pieces by noon and winners will be announced at 2 p.m.) and a Christmas bazaar that will feature local merchants selling arts and crafts. – The Yuba City Early Risers Kiwanis Club will be selling See’s candy at the Yuba Sutter Marketplace main entrance, 1215 Colusa Ave., Yuba City, from 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. All proceeds go to benefit the club’s children’s programs. 

– POSTPONED: The Stonyrose Heritage Society’s dinner theater presentation of “A Colusa Christmas Carol,” has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event has been rescheduled for Feb. 6, 2021. For more information, call or text 521-5902.

– The Yuba Sutter Marketplace Blood Drive, through Vitalant, will be from noon-4 p.m. inside the mall, 1215 Colusa Ave., Yuba City. Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting via web conference, however, seating will be available in the City Council Chambers and the Sutter Room as appropriate – with social distancing.
