A Yuba City man was arrested this week after allegedly assaulting and briefly kidnapping a man trying to buy an item from him.
Shane Snow, 46, was arrested by the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office Thursday in the 4700 block of Arboga Road on suspicion of criminal threats, robbery, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon not a firearm, criminal conspiracy and battery with serious bodily injury.
A victim reported that he had come from Stockton to an address on Cottonwood Avenue in Olivehurst to meet Snow to allegedly buy an amplifier, department spokesperson Leslie Carbah said Friday. The victim reportedly knew Snow from a previous sales transaction.
After arriving in Olivehurst, the victim was allegedly assaulted by Snow and two others, and sustained minor injuries from being hit, Carbah said.
During the assault and robbery, the suspects allegedly brandished firearms and forced the victim into a vehicle, which he later escaped from.
Deputies were alerted to the incident when an unrelated resident called to report a suspicious subject hiding on her property on McGowan Parkway. When deputies arrived, the victim told them he was hiding from Snow and the other two suspects after being assaulted, robbed and kidnapped.
Snow was booked into Yuba County Jail with bail set at $500,000.
