Recently, a man complained about the chickens that live on Highway 99 in Yuba City. Here’s a bit of background on those chickens:

They originate from the Littlejohn Ranch, which used to cover many acres on the corner of Highway 99 and Franklin Road. The Littlejohn House now serves as the office of the Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce. The orchard is now a parking lot with an IHOP, Starbucks and more. It has been the home of the chickens for decades, thus they choose to stay there.

Many of us enjoy seeing the chickens. I grew up in that neighborhood. They don’t bother anyone. So find something else to crow about sir!
