In 1928 my father-in-law immigrated to the U.S. from Germany. It took him four years of applications and a requirement that he would have a sponsor in the U.S. who would be financially responsible for him until he could make his own living. He was drafted and fought in WWII against his homeland. This became his country and he loved it. My wife and I had the opportunity to visit Russia. We were required to possess a U.S. passport, apply for a Russian visa, answer 42 questions, and it was only valid two days prior to our arrival and two days after our departure, not to exceed a period of 18 days. During that visit, we spoke with several Russian residents who have tried to obtain visas to the U.S. and have been denied.
Legal immigration made this country what it is today. Illegal immigration is simply illegal. Law-abiding citizens should not be financially responsible for illegal activity. Our taxes should not be wasted on individuals who have no legal rights to be in this country. The cost for education, medical expenses and law enforcement required to support illegal immigrants could pay off our federal deficit and strengthen our country. Free food, free medical care, free education and free housing. Who do you think pays for those FREE items? Gov. Newsom says we have a housing shortage. If the taxpayers were not paying for illegal immigrants we would have the money to pay for homeless housing and those who recently lost everything in the Camp Fire.
Politicians were not elected to give away our country. They were elected to support OUR country and the citizens who earned the right to live here.
