We were taken by surprise to learn last week that the Hillcrest Plaza in south Yuba City recently changed hands and that there are some improvements planned for the complex of small shops, offices and eating establishments. But we’re not disappointed – the plaza was purchased by Ethan Conrad Properties. 

That’s the company, based in Sacramento, that owns the Yuba-Sutter Mall and in our estimation has done a good job updating and keeping the corner-stone property in good shape.

ECP purchased the 38,000-square-foot Plaza at the corner of Clark Avenue and Julie Drive just a few weeks ago for around $2 million, it was reported.

Ethan Conrad, CEO of the company, said they’ll do some remodeling on the interior and common areas and some exterior work. There are two suites they’ll work to find occupants for.

It’s good news for south Yuba City and the entire community that an owner who cares about the vitality of the commerce centers he owns has latched onto the Plaza.
