Construction begins on a new scoreboard in center field at Colusa Casino Stadium in Marysville on Wednesday.

The Yuba Sutter Gold Sox started work on a new scoreboard earlier this week as the team looks to make improvements around Colusa Casino Stadium before its home opener on May 31.

“The Gold Sox are very excited to be installing a long overdue new scoreboard,” said general manager Tommy Lininger. “The new scoreboard is the first project on a list of improvements we plan on making to the ballpark over the next few years to improve our fan’s experience,” added Lininger.

The scoreboard was donated by Plumber’s and Pipefitter’s Union 228 and installed by Hilber’s Construction on Wednesday.

“We want to send a huge thank you to Plumber’s and Pipefitter’s, Hilber’s and the City of Marysville for helping give the community a ballpark we can all be proud of,” said Lininger.

Season tickets and single-game tickets can be purchased online (www.GoldSox.com) or by visiting the organization’s main office near the Colusa Casino Stadium – 1525 C Street, Marysville. Tickets range from $8 for general admission to $14 for VIP seats. For more information, call 741-3600.

The Gold Sox will start the season on May 31 at home against the Sacramento Heat.
