Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox continued their good fortune against South Bay with its third straight win over the Storm, 9-3 Saturday night at Colusa Casino Stadium.

Yuba-Sutter (11-5) will try to complete the sweep against South Bay (2-9) at 1 p.m. Sunday in Marysville.

The Gold Sox opened things up with five in the seventh to give pitcher Clayton Chipchase some breathing room.

Up 7-3 in the top of the eight, Chipchase would load the bases with no outs. He proceeded to strikeout one, then get help from his defense when a baserunner was thrown out at home. Chipchase then got the final out of the inning on a ground out, stranding three runners on base with no damage done.

Gold Sox struck twice more in the home half of the eighth on a couple bases-loaded walks to push it to 9-3.
