The Nets reportedly traded for James Harden Wednesday..

James Harden is heading to Brooklyn.

The Nets pulled off a massive trade Wednesday, acquiring the star guard from the Houston Rockets, according to an ESPN report.

Brooklyn, which played the Knicks last night at Madison Square Garden, worked out a multi-team deal to make it happen — and parted with significant assets and mortgaged its future in the process.

According to reports, the Nets will send Rodion Kurucs, three first-round picks, one first-round pick via the Milwaukee Bucks and four Nets first-round pick swaps to Houston, which will also acquire Dante Exum.

The Rockets will also land star Victor Oladipo from Indiana.

The Pacers will get Caris LeVert and a second-round pick, while Cleveland will get Jarrett Allen and Taurean Prince.

Harden will now join Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving — when and if Irving returns — to potentially form a new Big 3 in the Eastern Conference.

Through eight games this season, the eight-time All-Star is averaging 24.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 10.1 assists while shooting 44.4% from the field and 34.7% from 3-point range.

Harden has three years and $133 million remaining on his contract with a player option on the final season.

Harden will reunite with Durant after previously playing together with the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2009-12.

Rumors of the Rockets, who shipped Russell Westbrook to the Wizards in exchange for John Wall in early December, trading Harden swirled since the preseason but accelerated as the relationship between Harden and Houston broke down.

Harden previously was late to arrive to training camp, and then after the Rockets’ 117-100 loss to the Lakers Tuesday night, Harden told reporters that the Rockets are “just not good enough.”

Trade talks then went into overdrive Wednesday, with the Nets and Philadelphia 76ers emerging as the two teams in the running to pull off the deal.

Brooklyn, which entered Wednesday sitting in the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference with a record of 6-6 under new head coach Steve Nash, hasn’t exactly had a smooth season either.
